So, can anyone tell me what this dubious little gambit might be called?
1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. Nc3 Nf6
4. Nxe5?!
Should be prettty easy....

Greetings Cliff ...... ! I always enjoy having these old brain cells tested .....
I knew from reading the move-order, that this sounded to be some variation of
The Four Knights Opening, but I couldn't remember the name of this particular gambit ...??..
So then it was off to my dusty copy of Firmian's MCO .... which didn't help .....
.... at which point I finally had to cheat and consult my mega ECO on disk ...... and alas ..........
The Four Knights Opening .... Schultze-Mueller Gambit, ECO C46-C47
So now, was my research all in vain .... or do I win the 'Grand Prize' ....
And did you really mean to suggest that this should have been an easy opening question ...??? Ha, Ha, Ha !
I hope we haven't violated any forum rules by posting this here in the General Forum, as oppossed to the Games/Puzzles Forum..... either way,
Nice Post My Friend ! ! !

The Halloween Gambit answer was the one I was waiting for!!!
Congrats though.
You're both right! Apparently there is another name though....
"The Leipzig Gambit"
But I thought Halloween seemed liked a good time to ask!

I think it's also been called the Irish gambit.
