I need more time.

Post by orpheus » Thu Sep 23, 2010 2:25 pm

I need more time in g1105033949. It's part of the 2010 site tournament. There's no way to take vacation here!

You only get more time when you reach 50 moves, you've still got 4 moves to go.

I can't understand that policy.

That policy makes no sense to me, since it's possible to have a long vacation, as I did this August, before 50 moves have been played. Anyway I have been timed out of a completely won game.

that's the time control. 50 moves in start time, if it goes longer than that (most don't) he manually adds time.

It's all explained in the rules linked from the tournament page. You're not the first person in the world to loose a game on time, it's just a game, you'll live.

The answer is orpheus that you are completely 100% correct and they don't give a -----. They don't understand the concept of vacation despite my attempt to explain it to them. It is like correspondence in the darkages or something.

Before this turns into rants that will possibly be edited, I'd like to give you my real opinion, which should have been expressed directly in my first post on the matter. This opinion really comes down to four words:

PRACTICE BETTER TIME CONTROL!]

Now that's a thing you can do on your own, and don't rely on others for.

I just deleted several posts from this thread. Please keep all discussion respctful. It is totally possible to have a discussion where two people or more disagree without resulting to disrespectful behavior.

How could you not picking a time control that would have enough time for you to take your planned vacation, not be about time controls? I don't get it? Please explain?
