......................................
Greetings Fellow Pawn Pushers !
Does anyone else ever get burdened down with your current game-load moves/plans/strategies, etc. [on top of balancing life's daily struggles],
and have difficulty staying focused between your games, and life in general .... ? Or maybe I'm the only one .....? ? ?
Have you ever looked at a vehicle's license number, which happened to start with B4, and think to yourself .... I would never play that "Polish Sokolsky" ....?
Well for me, sometimes I find that
reading Chess Quotes helps to get my mind/spirit re-charged .....
which is why I started this thread.
I'm curious to know, what Chess Quotes inspire and/or give your brain a break and help to re-charge your spirit ....? ? ? ? ?
Here's one of my favorite quotes from Dan Heisman, which I first read from his "Novice Nook" column at The Chess Cafe, many years ago .........
" In chess you fail not if you lose, but if you play a game and don't learn, or learn something and don't apply what you learned next time, CONTINUING TO MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES. The outcome of any individual game is fairly irrelevant in the greater sense of learning if your goal is to improve. Sure, there are some important games to win, and if you can win and learn, all the better ; but if you start out as a weak player and want to get strong .....
LEARNING and APPLYING is What It's All About."
