Users not moving when they know they will be beaten!!

I was wondering what happens if you are in a game where the person ur playing against knows they will be beaten and then just waits till they time out, or does the game end if the other person doesnt move in 10 days or something like that? Just curious!

Your opponent will loose when he times out. So that is no problem, you will win anyway.

If he's waited for a long time (over ~30 days) and has a lot of time remaining (over ~30 days), let me know the game ID, and I'll bump down his time remaining to about 10 days.

I have been slightly irked by the same thing lately, but kind of thought I was unique! It's only a 24 day differential in my game g1066067329, and a 26 day in g1066067330, but the person I am playing is in the top 10 moves every day! I'm not saying the time needs to be adjusted yet, but it's just silly to not play in games you are behind on... the clock marches ever forward, and reckoning day is coming.

There's a big difference between being behind, and being in a lost possition. In the two games you pointed out toverturf, it could simply be the fact he has to think about it longer.
In the one you pointed out masterubu, There's only 24 days left, so I'll let him time out, but I added time for white so that he doesn't time out.

Neither of those are clear wins, your actually far behind in the second one. The guy hasn't made a move in any of his games since Aug, maybe he's on vacation.

Its the game g1050375642, dosent realy bother me but he has got 66 days to go. Also if the player ur playing against rating changes during a game, what rating are u marked against?

what's that !??!??!!? when you play with a clock, if you have king with 3 pawns, and your opponant has all pieces but only 1 minute on the clock, if he loses on time, he lost !!! dont add time because you suppose white is winning ! the referee doesn't get involved in a match. (losing position or not) time is time !! that's it ! those are the rules !

In the rules for the tourny I said I would add time for games that went to over 50 moves.

Yeh I have two games against the same opponent where he should have resigned weeks/months ago.
However since my opponent is taking the p*ss, I have decided to do the same back.
In the following game
Game: g1054721580
I am black and will (soon) only allow his king to move from h7 to g8 whilst i remove his remaining pawns and see how many queens i can get. Maybe i will bother to mate him next year or something.
In the Game: g1054721581 where I am white, I can only, unfortunately get 3 queens total so might try and get a knight and mate with that instead.
If you do read this greg please leave the game as is. if you are my opponent U R a d**k

In this game, my opponent hasn't played since july 2nd, so 136 days since the last move (it appends to be my last move).
In your quote, it state "over 30 days" you will bump down the time remaining to about 10 days. If nothing is done, I must wait 120 days so that means, the game will be won only on march 14th 2004, wow !!

If you accept time controls of 90d +10d you might often end up in games lasting one year. so don't join a match with that time controls. There's no reason to complain about an opponent exhausting his time of reflection
We just can't expect Greg to check all the games where the guy who's better complains about the reflection time of his opponents.

I dont mind a person taking his or her time to reflect but months of reflection is a bit exagerated (137 days of reflection - and 119 days left = 256 days before he loses by time). I am a patient person but this is ridiculious.
Greg, please fix this problem, or at least, respond to this message ! thanks.
