king and bishop against lone king

Post by knightowl » Mon Jun 20, 2016 4:55 am

I just finished a game that ended in a draw because it was a king and bishop against a lone king. Since in this case checkmate is not possible, shouldn't the system automatically force a draw?

This is the game: http://www.net-chess.com/game/g1105248268

Technically, nothing should be called automatically, you have to ask the TD (me) to declare it a draw. I only implemented automatic judgement for the few things that happen fairly regularly, checkmate, time-outs, stalemate, three move repetition. So far I don't think anyone has had to ask me to force a draw in this type of situation, not on-line nor in a OTB tournament.
